Lately there is so much news about death in the world that it is difficult not to be influenced by all this. More than anything else, it should serve as a reminder to all to follow the government’s guidelines in their efforts to limit the good work of Covida-19. The U-19 World Championship was very successful for me and I wanted to be a stable player in the senior national team. As an athlete, there is no resting on the laurels of the past. I always have to learn and make progress.
After the World Cup, I played for Mumbai on Nayudu QC (national U-23 tournament) and was looking forward to playing for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League. This was supposed to be my first IPL, but now I have no idea when it will happen.

After a visit to the IPL preparation camp in Nagpur in the first week of March, I heard about the outbreak. Since then, the situation has only worsened.
I live with my coach Juala Singh in Santacruz (East), and fortunately everything I need is delivered here via internet and telephone. So there was no panic.
As far as my training is concerned, I have training exercises from RR trainers. A large part of these activities is related to outdoor training, which is currently not possible. Even the gyms are closed. So I do my best indoors, and that includes strength, endurance and stretching exercises.

I’m meditating too. I’ve been doing it for a while. I found it an effective way to increase my mental strength. But it’s not as easy as it sounds. Honestly, I’m just doing my best and nothing more specific. Today I can’t get a guide, so I follow this example, no matter what information I find on the internet or elsewhere for my meditation practice.
I paint a lot, too. It’s my hobby. Now that I have so much free time, I do a lot. It distracts me from negative thoughts.
I just hope this lockdown ends soon and that the corona outbreak will go away. I was happy to play with all the international PP stars, especially Steve Smith. I wonder if his thinking process is completely different from that of others. His style is so special and different from all the others. I had a lot of questions for him, but I don’t know if I can meet him now. I wanted to know how he was preparing for the game. What impressed me most was how he was able to absorb the psychological pressure and recover from the recent setbacks. I hope I can play with him and deepen my knowledge of the game.
